Howdy Y'all! I am a home girl in the truest southern sense-just a girl on an adventure to find the perfect balance between family (of 6) and friends (love them!) and a lil' me time too. I love love love reality tv, love finding a good bargain, love decorating, love organizing my home and L.O.V.E. studying God's word.
The girls both made straight A's again this past 6 weeks so we treated them to some sleep over fun and a trip to Rainforest Cafe in Katy on Friday evening. Bailey invited her friend Hannah spend the night and Emma invited Maddie. All the girls had so much fun laughing, giggling and talking about all kinds of topics. Bailey even whipped out her camera and started taking pictures at the restaurant. The kids loved the restaurant but Jerrod and I felt otherwise. The food was horrible and the wait was terrible with TONS of open tables everywhere. I never understand that. Anyway, we just reminded ourselves that it was all about the "girls" and the food was at least- edible. They finished their meal with a "volcano"! A VERY large brownie with ice cream and a sparkler to top it off! Happy girls...Later that night, they stayed up late. I overheard them (no, I wasn't standing at the door with my ear glued to it...I promise) singing and other fun stuff. They even came up with a "roller coaster" on the bed where they used some chairs and pushed one another- probably not a good idea. In the morning, Jerrod took them to get donuts and juice. They gobbled that right up and headed upstairs for more fun. Guess what they made? You won't believe it. A tent!! Those girls created a fancy smancy tent using 3 very large golf umbrellas and about a dozen blankets. They used every single clothes pin in this house to get it to stay together. It was awesome. They hung out for the rest of the morning in that thing. Perfect. Hannah's Daddy came to get her sometime around noon as our day was just beginning. Their tent was huge!We got in the car and headed to Fredericksburg, TX. to go and check on a house we (I) am so hoping we buy from Jerrod's Uncle Doug. We have stayed at this house several times and absolutely love it! It's the perfect size for us- not to big where things get lost and just enough room for each of us to have space to sleep comfortably. I really hope this can happen for us. The ride was nice and we got to eat dinner at our favorite restaurant- Rathskeller. Yummy food. Doug and Robin met us there and we had a nice visit. The next day we played Jenga and Uno as a family and hung out at the house. We headed back to Sugar Land in the early afternoon but made it home close to 9:00 p.m!! Lots of bathroom breaks and food stops make for a long ride home! I always think it's the anticipation of coming back home (the best part of any trip) that makes the trip home more difficult. We love Fredericksburg and hope to return REAL soon!! A crazy, busy weekend that was soooo worth it!! Aunt Robin, cousin Carson, Teague and Jackson. Uncle Doug and Jerrod. On the way there...This is what Teague did the entire trip... It's gotten so that it sounds like music to my ears.Love this picture.
