Our 3rd Annual Brownie End of the Year Party

Every year the girls get an end of the year gift. This year it was these cool towels with their names on them.

We have 17 girls in our troop and we have lost our first girl EVER! Emily Shamlaty has been in our troop for 3 years and is moving to Florida. We are going to miss her so much! The girls all signed a picture frame and we included a picture of all the girls for her to remember each of them.

Secret Brownie Sisters are good fun

Today was a meeting for our Brownie troop. The weather is stunning so we decided to have the meeting at the park in our neighborhood. The girls hardly get a chance to just "play" with one another so we hope they could finish their activity (making friendship bracelets for another sister troop) and spend the rest of their time just hanging out together as friends. Ginger had a great idea to have the girls fill out a questionnaire with all their "favorites" like favorite color, number, song, thing to do, etc. and then we let the girls draw from a box right before they left to go home. We told them they had to do one thing special for their "secret sister" before our next meeting and that they weren't allowed to tell ANYONE! It was so cute to see them take this so seriously. We are going to take those questionnaires and make them something special with them...I'll share details later!

The girls did just what we thought...they had a ball hanging out with each other, chasing each other, and playing games. It's so fun to see how these girls have grown up and how they have formed such meaningful friendships. Emma is very fortunate to have such a neat group of girls to call her friends!! What a blessing this troop is to her and ME! Love these girls!!

2009 to the 1950's!

Today we had a Brownie meeting. We are focusing on learning about the 50's era (attire, prices for items during that time, cars, letter jackets, etc.) to prepare them for a Sock Hop Father/Daughter dance scheduled for February 13, 2008 at Campbell Elementary. They are all going to have matching poodle skirts (thanks Megan) and a cute white T with their initial on the front-Laverne and Shirley style (thanks Glenda)!! So super cute!

So today was spent practicing the bunny hop, the hand jive and the several others. Ginger did a great job- a fabulous job- teaching the girls the moves. I had to call her tonight and thank her AGAIN for her attention to detail! The girls really got into the dancing! So, I just have to post the pictures of them...

Brownie Mother/Daughter Christmas Event

Tonight we had a Mother/Daughter event for our Brownie troop #29140. Ginger and I had a full semester of meetings, outings, etc. and we thought it would be so much fun to just get together and hang out. Our troop is super special- we have a great group of girls and a fabulous group of Moms. We have all become great friends and I truly value each and everyone of their friendships! One of our meetings this semester was about "voting" and we allowed the girls to vote on several items that day. One of them was where we would hold the Mother/Daughter event so they had a hand in choosing the local pizza place- Pepperoni's. We passed out gifts the girls had made their mothers (that was another meeting), ate pizza/salads followed by cupcakes and had fun laughing with one another!
