Kate from Jon and Kate + 8 in Houston

I was so excited to be invited to go with a group of my girlfriends to see Kate Gosselin from Jon and Kate plus 8- the TLC reality series. She came to Houston and was sponsored by the ministry Proverbs 31. It was a great trip. We all met at my house and went together in our suburban. We ate at Panera bread near the church hosting the event. (What a treat! A treat because we didn't have wait on any children, cut anyone else's meat, butter anyone's bread, etc. It was also so yummy. It is my new favorite restaurant. I must get Jerrod and the kids over there quickly!) Anyway, the event was great. There were over 4,000 women there to see Kate. They had several guest speakers and Kate finally came out to speak at around 9:30!!! Late!! She talked briefly about the faith she found when she learned she was carrying her 6 babies. She talked about how everyone doubted her and the decision that she and Jon made to keep the babies (especially how they didn't choose selective reduction). She and Jon were without work during the pregnancy and they still had faith. I can't even imagine how difficult is was for them. I don't know if I would have had the faith that she had (and still has). She stayed after to sign her book, but the line was a serious MILE long! We got out at approximately 10:30 p.m. and they would have been standing there for hours...I am certain so we chose not to wait. Her message was great! I feel fortunate to live in an area where I have the opportunity to see things like this! But I must say, it was more hanging out with my friends!! I love those girls!
